Youngest Falcons working hard...

Posted Tuesday, September 01, 2009 by Jean Macdonald
All eyes have been on the East Kentwood Varsity, especially following their exciting team-win against defending OK Red Champs, Caledonia, Friday night.  However, EK's Freshman team has been working overtime too.  Led by Coach Dominic Lowe, the youngest birds are steadily maturing and ready to "leave the nest" for the playing field.  Assistants Mike Simon, Mike Hall and Cory Davis are on board to run a tight ship.

They have a talented two-some at the Quarterback position: #7 Alex Browley and #10 Alex Talcott.  This is "ALEXury" that Coach Lowe is glad to have.  "Both guys are capable of doing the job and leading this team" reported Coach Lowe.

Their first game was a 2 point heartbreaking loss at the hands of Caledonia, but they played with a lot of heart and intensity.  Those two qualities alone will bring much success to this years Freshman team.  This week, the game is played on Wednesday, due to the holiday weekend.  Unlike the Varsity and the JV teams, who will be taking on Inkster on Thursday, the Freshmen will be playing Hudsonville, because Inkster has no Freshman team.  We look for them to come out, play hard, and bring home a Falcon victory.  Go Freshmen!
